Working with Expedia’s marketing team, Tandem built a multilingual Point of Interest System. From a project that started as a complicated mapping site, it quickly grew to a full scale content and communication management system.
The build included a content workflow system, managing content from internal editors, content agencies and users and pushing each piece of content through different publishing states to publication. The system is multilingual, covering 13 languages.
Expedia has exacting technical standards for development but Tandem delivered a product that was faster than Expedia’s requirements across its global content distribution network. For a site so image heavy, this meant that Tandem had to come up with some innovative solutions to increase load speeds, something which is a huge consideration for internal and external search.
